‘Art & Writing Sundaes’ aims to explore the ways in which artists engage with the written word, not only within the new field of contemporary art writing, but also through the relationship between language and image, investigating how the graphic and the poetic intersect. Through on an ongoing series of talks, discussions and workshops, we will examine what role writing – be it in the form of artistic practice, art criticism, or even a shopping list – can play in our own creative lives; as well as how this can be framed within a wider context. The aim is both to refine our verbal and visual vocabularies and to help us develop a critical voice.
