As part of the Mini Holland project series that has radically improved the cycle infrastructure of Waltham Forest we also developed design proposals for the public realm of the Whipps Cross roundabout at its most eastern section of Lea Bridge Road and at the entrance to Epping Forest.

Surrounding residential areas and the Whipps Cross Hospital generate a constant stream of pedestrians, joggers and cyclists that manoeuvre their way around this major transport junction and bus interchange. Design proposals aimed to transform the roundabout into a useable and enjoyable green space en-route to the bus, home and the forest including a new playground, planting and seating opportunities.

Due to limited budgets the implementation on the ground was reduced to creating a greener environment with much improved cycle and pedestrian access.
